With two decades of experience, Bess Weyandt got her start as a canvasser for the DNC's first grassroots fundraising effort in 2004 in San Francisco, and then as call time manager for respected longtime progressive legislator Jim Martin's run for Lt. Governor in 2006.  

Since then, she has worked as an organizer, deputy campaign manager, finance director and consultant with Georgia candidates up and down the ballot -- notably leading the fundraising efforts for Jason Carter during his State Senate and Gubernatorial runs, and for Bee Nguyen for Secretary of State in 2022. She has worked with non-profit organizations of various sizes, helping them to open new fundraising avenues and tell their stories to new audiences. In the early 2010s, Bess served as Operations Director of a startup accelerator at Georgia Tech and as the founding Executive Director of Startup Atlanta.

A product of Atlanta Public Schools, Bess received a B.A. from Smith College and an M.A. from the Savannah College of Art. Her proudest achievement might be when she finally got to marry her passions by designing the John Lewis (with whom she interned in college) "Good Trouble" Mugshot Poster, which won a Reed Award. When she is not helping to elect good people to public office, you can find her working towards a more sustainable plant-based future or traveling abroad.
